Biography

Jacqlene A. Nance is the Associate Director of Admissions.  She earned her BA in international studies with a minor in women’s studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her JD from the University of North Carolina School of Law.  While at UNC Law, Ms. Nance served as President of the Student Bar Association.  She was a fellow and research assistant with the UNC Center for Civil Rights during which she focused on issues concerning discrimination in housing, voting, education and employment.  She is admitted to the State Bar of Kansas.

 

Prior to her current position with UConn Law, Ms. Nance was Director of Admissions and Scholarships at the University of Kansas School of Law. She joined the staff at KU Law as an Assistant Director of Admissions following a period of time as a research assistant with both the UNC School of Law Office of Admissions and the UNC Office of Alumni and Special Programs. Ms. Nance recently served as the secretary of the Midwest Alliance of Law School Admissions (MALSA), a member of the Kansas Bar Association Diversity Committee and has served as a panelist at LSAC’s Law School Forums.
