A previous post pointed out a number of the library’s online historical newspapers. We now subscribe to several additional databases:
- Wall Street Journal Historical provides full text searchable digital images, with coverage from the first issue in 1889 to 1992. In addition to the printed stories, it also includes the charts, stock tables, graphics, and illustrations featured in the publication.
- New York Amsterdam News Historical provides full text searchable digital images, with coverage from 1922 to 1993. One of the nation’s leading black newspapers, it has for nearly a century helped influence and promote the causes and aspirations of African-Americans.
- Chicago Tribune Historical provides full text searchable digital images, with coverage from the first issue in 1849 to 1986. A valuable resource in tracing the development of both Chicago and the Midwest as a whole.
