Martindale-Hubbell State and International Law Digests

Many of you are probably familiar with the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, which provides profiles of U.S. and international law firms and attorneys. But you may not have used their State and International Law Digests, which are now available free on their web site (as well as on Lexis). Free registration is the only requirement for access to these valuable resources.

The digests provide summaries of the statutory law of the 50 states and English-language summaries of the laws of 80 countries, including a separate digest on European Union law. They are compiled and updated each year by prominent law firms, legal scholars, and other experts in each jurisdiction. The information in each digest is broken down into easy-to-use general topics and sub-headings, making them a good place to begin your research. To access the digests on the Martindale-Hubbell web site, go to "Search Legal Topics" and either search for "law digest (your jurisdiction)" or click on "Advanced Search" and select your jurisdiction from the dropdown menus.
