Biography
Professor Leyden is the Director of the Law School's Tax Clinic and teaches the Tax Clinic program. Professor Leyden received her J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1982, and an LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center in 1984. Upon graduating from the Law School, she served as a clerk to the Honorable Herbert Chabot, United States Tax Court. Prior to joining the faculty of the Law School, Professor Leyden practiced tax law with Steptoe & Johnson, Washington, D.C., and Day, Berry & Howard, Boston, MA. She also served as both a hearing officer and manager with the Massachusetts Department of Revenue Appeal & Review Bureau from 1988 to 1995, and as a senior staff attorney with the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services Legal Division from 1995-1997. Professor Leyden has been a contributing author to the 1998 and 1999 Connecticut Tax Handbook, published by Research Institute of America. Professor Leyden is admitted to practice in Connecticut, the District of Columbia, and Massachusetts, and is a member of the bars of the United States Tax Court and the Federal Court of Claims.
