Lessons from the Humanities
On April 30, Professor Thomas Morawetz presented "Lessons from the Humanities" to the Legal Philosophy Discussion Group of Greater Los Angeles.
Professor Morawetz is the Tapping Reeve Professor of Law and Ethics. He teaches courses including Criminal Law, Contemporary Legal Theory (Legal Philosophy), Law and Literature, Jurisprudence, and Theory of Criminal Law. He has written or edited nine books, including his collected essays in legal philosophy under the title Law's Premises, Law's Promise: Jurisprudence after Wittgenstein. His books range from criminal law, legal philosophy, philosophical epistemology, justice, and law and language. He also has published more than forty articles in these areas as well as professional responsibility, and law and literature. His writings also include reviews of modern literature, mystery fiction, movies, and a forthcoming book on philosophy, psychology, and film.
