Legislative Histories of Selected U. S. Laws on the Internet

The Law Librarians’ Society of Washington, D. C. recently updated a very useful publication called Legislative Histories of Selected U. S. Laws on the Internet. This site provides links to almost all free as well as commercial compiled Federal legislative histories available on the internet. There are separate lists for those available at public (free) sites and those available in commercial databases. Within each category, the legislative histories are first listed alphabetically by the short title of the public law and then by public law number. Also included on the site are citations to public law numbers, U. S. Code and CFR cites, and extensive explanatory notes about legislative histories. This is a great place to start when you are looking for a compiled legislative history, whether it’s located free on the web or in a commercial database.
