LawInfoChina, published by the Legal Information Center of Beijing University in China, is a legal database that covers Chinese laws, regulations, and rules, including local rules and regulations. Also available are cases approved and published by the Supreme People’s Court of China and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate.  These cases cover administrative disputes, civil disputes, criminal offences, economic disputes, and intellectual property law and maritime disputes. Most material dates back to 1949, with both Chinese and English translations.

This database also allows users to search or browse the table of contents of leading Chinese Law Journals in Chinese and in some cases in both English and Chinese. Full-text articles are in both PDF and TXT format. To open the PDF and TXT file, users need to have a simplified Chinese Language support Package installed on their computers. If you are doing your research using the small computer lab on the second floor of the Library, please use computer 233-23 and 233-24. Both computers support Chinese language. Ask at the HelpDesk if you have questions about opening documents in Chinese.

To access this database use the Research Databases page on the Library's website.  For any questions about how to use this database, please ask Insurance Law and Reference Librarian, Yan Hong.
