A recent survey by Kaplan Test Prep indicates that prospective law students and recent law graduates have different opinions as to what is most important in deciding where to apply to law school.

While the vast majority (86%) of pre-law students consider law school rankings “very important” or somewhat important,” only 17% of recent graduates surveyed said the same.  The top factors cited by graduates, on the other hand, were the school’s job placement rate and its affordability (each getting 24%).  Far fewer pre-law students considered these factors to be important (8% and 13%, respectively).
