
According to a recent survey, law firms are increasing the amount of time and effort they are devoting to training new associates.
The vast majority of firms now have some sort of associate training program, with 58% having formal programs in place and 34% using ad hoc methods. With clients more reluctant than ever to pay for work done by inexperienced lawyers, firms are looking for fast and practical ways of giving new attorneys the skills and experience clients are looking for. Training programs typically cover practice basics along with skills such as public speaking and legal writing.
