Law and Lust

On October 19, Professor Susan Schmeiser will present "Public Restrooms and the Anxiety of Intimacy" at the Law and Lust Conference sponsored by the Department of Political Science at Johns Hopkins University.

Professor Schmeiser teaches in the areas of family law, sexuality, gender and the law, health law, mental health law, and criminal law. Her scholarship addresses issues at the intersection of law and psychoanalysis, including the evidentiary status of psychotherapeutic material, the role of unconscious guilt in criminal behavior and punishment, and the problem of sexuality and self-control in mid-twentieth-century law and medicine.

  • The Law School will return to normal operations on Tuesday, February 12. Classes will resume as scheduled.

  • On February 9, Richard Wilson will deliver a keynote address at a conference on "Disasters, Displacement and Human Rights: Framing the Field" at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville.
