JURIST
JURIST is the world’s only law school-based comprehensive legal news and research service. Staffed by law professors and students at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, it reports on the latest U.S. and international legal developments, concentrating on legal issues with significant jurisprudential, social, and political implications. Each news story provided includes links to relevant primary legal materials and other documents, such as judicial decisions, legislation, testimony, and reports, and there is a legal news archive of more than 17,000 articles.
One very useful feature of JURIST is the law by topic area, which you can access by clicking on Topics at the top of the screen. This feature brings all the information on a particular topic together on one page, including news stories, recent commentary, relevant documents, video, and links to other web sites. Topics range from current events, to law school courses, to foreign countries.
Other features on the site include commentaries written especially for it by expert legal scholars, leading policymakers, and key legal practitioners from the U.S. and abroad; a collection of documents in the legal news; and a collection of video clips. You can also subscribe to their e-mail digest service or live RSS feeds.
So if you are looking for a new way to keep current on the latest legal news or to research a particular issue, check out JURIST.
