The Green Bag, a quarterly journal devoted to short and sometimes entertaining legal writing, recently created a new publication called The Journal of Law: A Periodical Laboratory of Legal Scholarship.

The publication is comprised of three separate unconventional legal journals, published together in one volume:

  • Pub. L. Misc. provides a forum for the publication of a relatively neglected body of legal material: significant constitutional documents, recent and ancient, that are generated by the Article I and Article II branches of our nation’s government.

  • Law & Commentary is an experiment in non-blind peer review in which signed reviews by senior, influential scholars are published side-by-side with the reviewed work.

  • The Congressional Record, FantasyLaw Edition is a student-edited journal focusing on empirical analysis of the activities of federal legislators.

At least one additional journal will be included in the next issue, with more being added in time.

Look for the print issue on the library's "new book shelf."  The entire first issue is also available online.
