CT Hall of Fame Honoree
Bessy Reyna '82 has been recognized by the Connecticut Women's Hall of Fame as one of its 12 "Voices and Vision" honorees.
Reyna is a columnist with CTLatinoNews.com and a former opinion columnist for The Hartford Courant. She has been a recipient of the Library of Congress's Connecticut Lifetime Achievement Award for Service to the Literary Community. She currently writes an arts and culture page for the Hispanic newspaper, Identidad Latina. Reyna is a master teaching artist for the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism and she is a frequent lecturer and guest artist at colleges, libraries and museums. Reyna is an author of many books of poetry including Memoirs of the Unfaithful Lover and The Battlefield of Your Body.
