C-SPAN Congressional Chronicle

The C-SPAN Congressional Chronicle provides a video archive of House and Senate floor proceedings, along with corresponding text from the Congressional Record. Currently, video for the 107^th through the 110^th Congresses, covering 2001 to the present, is available, but other Congresses are being added and will be available soon. Only members who appeared on the floor to deliver or insert their remarks into the record are included.

There are a number of ways to access relevant materials. When you click on a date on the Congressional calendar, a daily summary appears from which you can browse by bill number or by legislator’s name. You can do a person search to retrieve a list of a particular legislator’s videos and remarks, and within each legislator’s entries you can use the text box to search for a particular word within the transcripts. Bill search options include type of bill, bill number, title, and date of debate.
