Award Winners

On October 12, the Honorable Joette Katz '77, Professor Thomas Morawetz, and Professor Richard Pomp will be honored by the University's Alumni Association during the 2012 Alumni and Faculty Award Recognition ceremony. UConn's president, Susan Herbst, also will recognize the award winners at the UConn versus Temple football game on Saturday, October 13, at Rentschler Field, East Hartford.

Katz, who presently serves as commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, will receive the Association's Distinguished Alumni Award. Professor Morawetz will be honored with the Faculty Excellence in Research and Creativity Award. Professor Pomp will be recognized with the Faculty Excellence in Teaching, Graduate Level Award. The ceremony will take place on the University's Storrs campus.

  • The Law School will return to normal operations on Tuesday, February 12. Classes will resume as scheduled.

  • On February 9, Richard Wilson will deliver a keynote address at a conference on "Disasters, Displacement and Human Rights: Framing the Field" at the University of Tennessee - Knoxville.

  • On February 8, Professor Richard Pomp will be a speaker at the 2013 National Multistate Tax Symposium in Orlando.
