The ABA Journal talked with Washington University in St. Louis Law Professor Brian Z. Tamanaha, author of the book Failing Law Schools, in a recent podcast.
According to Tamanaha, the economic model of law schools is broken. He proposes a variety of solutions, including updated accreditation standards and federal loan programs, which will ease the existing tensions between high student loan debt and the dwindling job prospects of future graduates. He challenges prospective students, their parents, and Congress to demand the necessary changes to preserve the future of the profession.
