ABA Group Endorses Uniform Bar Exam

The ABA’s Council of the Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar recently adopted a resolution urging bar admission authorities in each state to participate in the development and implementation of a uniform bar exam. Missouri and North Dakota have already adopted the Uniform Bar Examination (UBE), and five other states are considering the idea. States that adopt the UBE will still administer their own bar exam and test on their own state’s law, but the scores would be transferable to other jurisdictions, making it easier for lawyers to become licensed in more than one state.
