To commemorate Women’s History Month, the library has put together a display on "Women of the Law School."

The display features, among others:

  • Ethel Sorokin, the first female editor-in-chief of the law review

  • J. Agnes Burns, the first female graduate of the law school

  • Shirley Raissi Bysiewicz, the law school’s first female tenured law professor

  • Joette Katz, the first female graduate of the law school to sit on the Ct Supreme Court; and

  • Nell Jessup Newton, the law school’s first female dean.

The display is located in the exhibit case in the library’s reference area. Stop by to take a look and find out more about these amazing women.
