The 200th Anniversary of the Hartford Convention: Legacy, History and Lessons Taught

On December 15, 1814, New England Federalists opened the three-week-long Hartford Convention to discuss secession of New England from the United States. This action followed from the anti-war sentiment against the War of 1812. Come to the Davis '55 Courtroom for a discussion of the succession historically, as well as its implications now.

Following the discussion, there will be a reception with snacks, beverages, and cake to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Hartford Convention.
