Law Review Submission Guide Updated

Posted by Janis Fusaris

UMKC Law Professors Allen Rostron and Nancy Levit have updated their article Information for Submitting Articles to Law Reviews and Journals through February 2012.

The article contains two charts.  One chart contains information gathered from the journals’ websites about:

  • methods for submitting an article (i.e. by email, ExpressO, or regular mail)
  • any special formatting requirements
  • how to request an expedited review, and
  • how to withdraw an article for consideration

The second chart contains the rankings of the law journals and their schools.

The charts cover only “general” law reviews, not specialized journals, with coverage of over 200 publications.

A list of links to the submissions information on each journal’s website is also provided.

New Title - Defending Jacob: A Novel

Posted by Janis Fusaris

Defending Jacob: A Novel by William Landay has just been added to the library’s popular reading collection located in the third floor reading lounge.

The book, a legal thriller being compared to Scott Turow’s Presumed Innocent, involves a prosecutor whose 14-year-old son is accused of murder.  A courtroom drama and murder mystery with a shocking twist, the book is at heart about family and the question: how far would you go to protect your child?

For more, read an excerpt, a review, or an interview with the author.
