Admitted Transfer Students
Congratulations on your acceptance to the University of Connecticut School of Law!
The transfer process can be a bit overwhelming. To that end we created a Transfer FAQ which will hopefully answer many of your questions. At this point the Registrar and the Student Finance Office have been informed of your admission. Shortly, you will receive information from the Career Planning Center and information regarding our Summer Inter-Journal Write-On Competition. In addition, we have created a mentor program for incoming transfer students. If you are interested in speaking with a current UConn Law Student who transferred from another law school, or if you have any other questions please contact Assistant Dean DeMeola.
As students at a state-supported university, residents of Connecticut may receive a preferential rate of tuition. Your official residency determination is located in the online status check below your email address. You will note two designations: state of permanent residence and residency. Residency codes include CT (Connecticut resident), NE (New England resident), and OS (out-of-state resident). Connecticut permits an individual to petition for residency after only one year, even if the person is a full-time student during that year. Students from the New England Compact states (residents of MA, NH, RI, and VT) and residents of any other state may petition the Law School after one year for a change of classification. Residency is determined by Sec. 10a-29 and Sec. 10a-30 of the Connecticut General Statutes. For more information regarding residency please visit the web.
