Attend Full-time or Part-time
The University of Connecticut offers both Day and Evening programs. Our Day division is a full-time, 3 year program with first year (1L) courses typically offered between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Our Evening division is a part-time, 4 year program; classes are typically offered to incoming students Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights between 6:00 pm and 10:00 pm. Day division students with unique needs may opt for a part-time day program.
Although the majority of our applicants wish to enroll immediately proceeding their undergraduate work, the Law School has a number of applicants who chose to pursue their legal education after spending time in the professional world. For applicants who wish to remain in full time employment while working towards career advancement, our part-time evening division is a perfect option.
When selecting which program suits your needs, keep in mind that transferring from one division to another is possible after the completion of the first full year of study. Students are not permitted to deviate from the required curriculum for their division during the first year; nor may they add or substitute a course from the other division. Evening 1Ls must take a June term (Moot Court).
Applicants must apply to either the Day or Evening Division. The cost of applying is sixty dollars ($60.00). For more information about the application process, please visit the How To Apply section of the website.
For more information about the academic requirements for the full time day, part time day and part time evening programs, please review the Course of Study section listed in the Requirements for the JD.
