Renewable Energy Law in the US

This course will examine renewable energy projects and the legal and political environment in which they are financed and developed in the United States. Topics will include the role of renewable energy projects in a restructured and competitive energy industry and the design of renewable portfolio standards. The use of other policy instruments, such as subsidies, to encourage the development of renewable energy projects, and the politics of siting and financing such projects, will also be considered.
