This seminar covers the development of tort law in the United States, focusing in particular on how tort law has affected and been affected by American insurance markets. Topics include auto accident liability, products liability, subrogation, tortious interference with contract, tort litigation against governmental entities, and alternative compensation systems. Each seminar participant must write a research proposal, conduct original research, submit multiple paper drafts before the final draft, and ultimately produce a substantial research paper of high quality.
