Comp Minority Grp Protections
- Class number: 13088
- Term: Spring 2007
- Instructor: Elena A. Baylis
The United States has developed a distinctive body of law addressing its history of race relations, immigration, and religious pluralism, but the American approach is far from the only one. How do other countries grapple with the questions of identity, discrimination, language, and public participation (to name just a few) presented by their increasingly complex and dynamic societies? This course will compare selected international, European, Inter-American and African legal protections for minority groups, with U.S. law serving as one point of comparison among many.
