  • Term: Spring 2003
  • Instructor: Nancy D b Wright

This course is a study of the legal issues in real estate transfer, finance, and development. The course begins with an expanded treatment of conveyancing topics covered in Property, followed by a discussion of mortgage law as it affects the purchase and sale of a single family home. The last half of the course discusses a specific real estate development proposal that initially is considered as a standard subdivision, then alternatively as a condominium development. Primary attention is given to the impact on real estate development of environmental regulation, federal tax questions, construction financing, leasehold financing, and bankruptcy.
